      Benzair Bhutto, leader of Pakistan People's Party, dies in a cold blooded murder in Rawalpindi on 27th December, 2007. She was born on 21st June 1953 in Karachi. Twice elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan, she was daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, also an ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan. She attended the Lady Jennings Nursery School, Convent of Jesus and Mary in Karachi, the Presentation Convent Rawalpindi and Convent of Jesus and Mary, Murree.  She did her A-Levels from Karachi Grammar School. From 1969 to 1973 she studied at Radcliff College and then at Harvard University where she obtained a BA degree in Comparative Government. From 1973 and 1977 Bhutto studied at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. Then she completed a course in International Law and Diplomacy at Oxford. In December 1976 she was elected president of the Oxford Union.   On December 19, 1987 she married Mr. Asif Zardari. She had three children. Their names are: Bilawal, Bakhtwar, and Aseefa.

Benazir Bhutto's father, Mr. Z.A Bhutto was dismissed as Prime Minister in 1977 by the military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq. In 1979 on charges of conspiracy to murder the father of a dissident politician, he was sentenced to death. In 1980, Benazir's brother Shahnawaz Bhutto was killed in France. He was alleged to be poisoned to death.

After the death of General Zia-ul-Haq in a plane crash in 1988, she contested the general elections held on 16th November, 1988.  Her Party won most seats in the National Assembly although still needed a few more for simple majority. She was elected Prime Minister and sworn in on December 02, 1988.

Her government was dismissed in 1990 but she returned to power in 1993. In 1996 when she was still Prime Minister, he second brother, Mr. Murtaza Bhutto was killed in a doubtful police encounter. Her second government was also dismissed in November, 1996. In 1998 she went on self-exile. She returned to Pakistan on 18th October, 2007 only to meet her ultimate fate on December 27, 2007.
